Mammals

Mammals are a group of warm-blooded vertebrates characterized primarily by the presence of mammary glands, which in females produce milk to feed their young. They typically have hair or fur on their bodies, and most give birth to live young (with a few exceptions like the platypus and echidna that lay eggs). Mammals also possess a neocortex (a part of the brain), three middle ear bones, and a four-chambered heart.

There are over 6,000 species of mammal, ranging from tiny bumblebee bats to massive blue whales. They inhabit a wide range of environments, including land, air, and water. Some well-known mammal groups include primates (like humans and monkeys), carnivores (such as lions and bears), rodents, and cetaceans (whales and dolphins).
