Rodents

Rodents

Rodents are a diverse order of mammals known scientifically as Rodentia. They are characterized by a single pair of continuously growing incisors in both the upper and lower jaws, which they use for gnawing. This unique dental feature makes regular chewing essential to keep their teeth from overgrowing.

Rodent are the largest order of mammals, comprising over 40% of all mammal species. Common examples include mice, rats, squirrels, beavers, guinea pigs, and hamsters. They inhabit a wide range of environments across the globe, from forests and grasslands to urban areas.

Rodents play important roles in ecosystems, such as seed dispersal and soil aeration, but some species are also considered pests due to their impact on crops and human settlements.
