+ Free ShippingWe believe that education is the most valuable contribution osteology can offer, and that each human specimen plays a vital role in advancing scientific knowledge. These specimens are generously provided by retired physicians, medical researchers, dental professionals, and former university medical programs. Additionally, we collaborate with accredited donor programs. A select collection of specimens—often antiques that do not meet the criteria for medical or research-grade use—are made available to osteology enthusiasts around the world, allowing them to continue their educational efforts and share knowledge.
The human hand consists of five digits: four fingers and one thumb. It contains 27 bones, excluding the sesamoid bones. Fourteen of these bones are the phalanges (proximal, intermediate, and distal) of the fingers and thumb. The metacarpal bones connect the fingers to the wrist, while the carpal bones form the structure of the wrist. Each human hand is comprised of five metacarpals and eight carpal bones.
